LANDSLIDE MITIGATION WORKS PROJECT AT 2+800 KM OF SUCCISA SP WITH UPGRADING OF ROADS AND THE RIVERBED

Description of the work
ambiente s.c. was commissioned by the province of Massa Carrara to implement the final phase of the project in question in order to achieve the objectives of: stabilising the slope, restoration of the exit SP 38 (provincial road), removal and reshaping of the deposit that obstructs the riverbed of the Magriola torrent and monitoring developments in the state of the slope.
The performance requirements of the project lay on the compliance with the technical and environmental regulations of the sector, respect of technical standards for construction approved with Ministerial Decree 14/01/2008 and the geometric regulations for roads, respect of the implementation procedures (time, cost) provided for in the urgent interventions plan (Deliberation 31/05/2010 no. 562).

Articulation of activities
The following preliminary activities were foreseen:

• Topographical survey of the landslide and the riverbed of the watercourse
• Geological surveys and geognostic details
• Geological support study
• Hydrological, hydraulic analysis to support design and interventions

Analysis of the current state: topographic survey, aerial photo, execution of post-event (topographic survey) Digital Terrain Model (DTM), pre-event reconstruction of CTR (regional technical map) 1:10,000 Digital Terrain Model.

Survey implementation: HVSR seismic surveys, refraction wave seismic surveys, electrical tomography, permeability tests survey, sampling and laboratory analysis.

Planned works: surface and deep drainage works, supporting works for slopes.
